Introduction
The presidents council was created to provide the opportunity for members to be directly involved in the direction of California DECA. This council consists of chapter presidents from around the state and holds regular meetings and represents all members from each chapter. Contact your chapter president to have your opinion heard!
Message from the President
Hello President’s Council!
As we head into the next 60 years of California DECA, your state officers hope that you are ready for another year of continued excellence!
Amidst the intense competitions held at the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Orlando, Florida this year your state officers began part one of the DECA L.E.A.D.S. training program, an incredible program designed specifically for state officers. We were able to network with many state officers from all over the country. Immediately after ICDC, your state officers worked extensively to plan out this upcoming year in the Spring State Officer Meeting. We also learned of each others leadership styles and how to work together the most effectively as a team. Your state officers even worked with the Board of Directors to figure out how we can serve your chapters, and thus California DECA as a whole, in the best possible way! We continued our planning at the Western Region Officer Training Camp (WROTC) this summer in Phoenix, Arizona and head into the year with a clear direction for how we hope to serve the members and chapters.
Right after school gets started chapter leaders will attend the DECA University training event and in November, California will be hosted all of Western Region DECA in San Diego for the Western Region Leadership Conference. We understand and acknowledge the pivotal role you have as a chapter president and are truly excited to work with you to make our organization the best it can be.
