NorCal CDC Recap

Author:

Recently, California DECA held its annual Northern California Career Development Conference at the San Ramon Marriott from January 16th – 18th. This event provided an opportunity for DECA students from across Northern California to take their leadership skills and abilities as competitors to the next level!
The conference began on Friday night, when chapters checked in to the hotel and reconnected with their DECA friends in the region. Later in the night, members tested for their competitive events. And to close the night, the state officers held their monthly President’s Council meeting, with alumni joining in for a tasty dessert.
Saturday morning began with competitive events in role-play and written events. Around lunchtime, there was a meeting for potential candidates running for state office. The day continued with presentations by DECA members from across Northern California.
Following those presentations, members got ready to have a fun night in the DECA Game Room and the DECA dance. DECA members connected with each other over fun games and activities.

Sunday morning arrived, and it was time for the award ceremony. We kicked of the morning with mini-awards and headed into breakfast before the grand awards. After the session, DECA members everywhere congratulated each other and headed home excited for the next DECA conference.
Northern California DECA members won’t have long to wait until they meet again, as the State Career Development Conference is right around the corner, from February 26th – March 1st in Santa Clara.
