Gunn DECA Aims to Boost Membership

This year, Gunn DECA was determined to boost its membership by sending officers to advocate for DECA and CTE to freshmen. They went to freshmen classes to talk about Club Day and emphasize the beauty of DECA and all the benefits it has to offer.

Surprisingly, the freshmen were very interested and engaged. Many of them asked questions and visited the DECA booth on Club Day. Gunn DECA also hosted its first two meetings of the year, both of which had so many attendees that some officers had to watch from the outside!

Currently, officers are creating registration forms and planning out events for the coming semester. Gunn DECA is looking forward to empowering new and old members to be #Limitless!

WHS DECA Takes on Club Rush

Starting off the school year strong, the Washington DECA chapter proved their DECA-cation for the 2017-2018 year at the school’s annual club rush, held on September 13th and 14th. Officers and members alike worked hard to excel in the following year and commence their DECA journey.

The executive team had a great time interacting with potential members and apprentices and discussing the possibilities of joining DECA as a supplement to gain confidence, professionalism, and real-life experiences. WHS DECA had a great turnout during this event, with many students eager to reveal their extensive knowledge or assimilate into all of what DECA has to offer.
We look forward to an exciting year which holds bright futures for all of our members!

Amador Valley DECA Jumpstarts Chapter Projects

As the new DECA season starts, Amador Valley DECA looks to get more involved in the school and local community with its chapter projects. After a period of thorough planning during the summer, the six chapter event teams set out at the beginning of the school year to execute their campaigns and ideas.

Among some of the innovative projects include: a new marketing campaign for the school’s career center, a nonprofit organization to distribute feminine hygiene products to shelters, and an initiative to promote equity in entrepreneurship.

“I think chapter events really are the hallmark of how civically engaged a chapter is, because these projects allow us to effect real, visible change in our communities,” said Jennifer Zhu, founder of TakeOff, an incorporated nonprofit that promotes entrepreneurship to all kinds of students, regardless of age, gender, background, or socioeconomic status.

Amador Valley DECA seeks to replicate its legacy of success in the chapter, and it looks forward to what this competitive year holds!
