Articles From the Chapters

San Leandro DECA Takes on Krispy Kreme
On Monday, October 3rd, San Leandro DECA held a fundraiser to help raise money to give more students the opportunity to attend the Northern California Career Development Conference. The chapter sold Krispy Kreme doughnuts along with brownies at the College and Career Night. The fundraiser was a success and an important step in San Leandro DECA’s goal of providing everyone interested in DECA the chance to compete.
In addition to effectively raising funds for NorCal, San Leandro DECA members learned valuable lessons about planning and executing a successful fundraiser.
“It was so hectic when students started running towards the table. It was a cool and smooth experience! A lot of my friends supported us along with college representatives,” said Erzel Hiyas, San Leandro DECA co-president, who helped plan the fundraiser with Krispy Kreme.
Washington DECA Starts Off Strong
With the beginning of the new DECA competitive season, WHS DECA started off strong with their first workshop, held on October 4th, 2017. There was a great turnout, with many freshman and members of all classes eager to expand their business knowledge and learn more about the organization
Officers introduced members to the types of events and basics of DECA. Overall, the workshop was a great success, and encouraged members to return to workshops in the following weeks, held every Wednesday after school. Through careful and determined preparation, WHS DECA hopes to prepare their members for competition and help them become #Limitless!
